The Abitibi-Témiscamingue region is part of the Canadian Shield, on a plateau located north of the Laurentians. A land of mines, rivers and lakes, it is also the entryway to the « Radissonnie » (the James Bay Region). The trails travel through coniferous forest.
In the west of the Province of Quebec, bordering Northeast Ontario. Served principally by Highway 117, from the Outaouais and the Upper Laurentians, and Highways 63, 65 and 66 from Northern Ontario. It is possible to access the trail network at nine different points.
